David winner Goliath bronze by Antonin Mercié

Dark brown  patinated bronze on oriental base depicting David standing on the head of Goliath sheating his sword. Inscribed on the base A.Mercié , ( Toulouse 1845 – Paris 1916 ) and on the side F.Barbédienne founder in Paris. Stamp mechanical reduction Collas.

Particularities :

Barbedienne cast iron mechanical reduction of “David” exposed at the Paris Salon of 1872 for wich Antonin Mercié awarded the medal of honor. This is one of his best known works. The large original bronze is in the Orsay Museum in Paris.
